Mayor Jimmy Nobbs was arrested yesterday afternoon by Bessemer County Sheriff Deputies following a fracas at a local gentleman’s club. Nobbs was identified by witnesses as the instigator of a brawl when he allegedly struck another patron with a billiard cue. “I just gave him a tap on the shoulder,” claims Mayor Nobbs, “’cause the guy was standing in the way of my shot.”
The alleged victim, who was not identified, was driven to the hospital by his friend. He was treated for minor injuries and released.
The Mayor was released on his own recognizance pending further investigation, say deputies. Alcohol is believed to have been involved.
